The Newfoundland and Labrador Folk Festival will be
held from July 12--14 in Bannerman Park in downtown
St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador.

For festival info see
https://nlfolk.com/festival/info/ .

The evening schedule was released today and is at
https://nlfolk.com/festival/schedule/ .

Most of the daytime stages schedule will be released
later. Note that the daytime stages are free of charge
this year due to some government funding.

The last two acts of Friday night are Balaklava Blues
and William Prince (probably with a band). Single
adult tickets for Friday night are about CAN$75,
including tax and service charge.

The last two acts of Saturday night are Steve Earle solo
and Emmylou Harris Band. Single adult tickets for
Saturday night are about CAN$150.

The last two acts of Sunday night are De Temps Antan
and The Ennis Sisters. Single adult tickets for
Sunday night are about CAN$50.

I bought a weekend adult pass last night and it came
to about CAN$250 (US$183) including tax and
service charge.

This year the main front-of-stage area will be licensed.

How is it that you can sing and dance while your rights are being
obliterated by that fascist Turdeau?

Do you ever Rebel News?

No, Canada!

The country that brought you debanking protesters and government-assisted suicide for the poor now wants to criminalize speech to lock up people for life and to put wrongthinkers under house arrest if the state sees a chance they will commit a crime.

Doesn’t get more Orwellian than that.

The chillingly titled Online Harms Act was introduced in February by
Justice Minister Arif Virani.

Pissed at your girlfriend? Tell the government she’s likely to commit a hate crime and have her house-arrested.

Worse, one provision in the bill would “increase the maximum penalty specifically for advocating genocide from 5 years to life imprisonment.”

We’re sure a law that criminalizes “advocating for genocide” could never be twisted to criminalize support for Israel.

The pro-Hamas left will have a field day.

The law would saddle social media companies that refuse to bend the knee with insane fines reaching up to 6% of global revenue.

In short, it would be the end of free expression in Canada.

They have reached an agreement with the liquor board
so that the entire area will be licensed, with adult
wristband wearers able to drink, but with children
allowed to accompany them.
